A sequel to 90s smash hit comedy ‘Cool Runnings’ started production in the Co Down town of Dundonald this morning.
The reboot welcomes back original cast members Doug E. Doug, Rawle D. Lewis, Malik Yoba, although John Candy refused to reprise his role on the grounds of poor health.
Principal photography began in Dundonald village as commuters took a break from swapping insurance details to stop and watch.
The movie’s location manager, I. B. Shivers, chose Dundonald over several other places including Yakutsk in Siberia, the East Antarctic Plateau and Arendelle from Frozen.
‘Dundonald has the perfect icy conditions required to send four black men of average build in a bath tub sliding long distances’, explained Mr Shivers.
Locals emerged from the wreckage of their vehicles to cheer as the Jamaican bobsleigh team shot along the ungritted roads of Dundonald.
Meanwhile, a Lisburn and Castlereagh Council spokesperson confirmed they are completely unprepared for the freezing conditions, even though we’ve had a winter since the beginning of recorded history.
‘We regret to announce we have absolutely f**k all provisions in place to deal with the ice which we’ve known been coming since last winter’.
‘Expect massive traffic disruption and pensioners sliding about like new born foals on an ice rink’.
‘On the plus side, you’ll probably see some hilarious videos on Facebook this morning of little school kids slipping and breaking their limbs’.
